Apr 12, · The mid-'60s demos are unremarkable (with the exception of the Richards/Oldham composition 'I'd Much Rather Be With the Boys', a nifty little song even if it wasn't right for the Stones), but I'm giving "Metamorphosis" three and a half stars for the sweeping orchestral version of 'Out of Time' (far superior to the version on "Aftermath", in my humble opinion), Bill Wyman's mock-woeful /5(K).

Though it remains the only Rolling Stones outtakes collection album ever to be officially released, Metamorphosis is one of those albums that has been slighted by almost everyone who has touched it, a problem that lies in its genesis.

METAMORPHOSIS by devilsadvocate June 27, Rating: I really wish I could give this album a higher rating. I'm looking at my old vinyl copy and Side 2 would deserve at least an 8, while Side 1 would be lucky to get away.

Stones anyone? I never thought I had this! A very pleasant discovery of the past days dive on my old hard drives!! Original Metamorphosis LP was just another subject of hostility between ex-manager Allen Klein and the band back then. A rare/odds collection with a messy story, pressing and sound.

Having played a pair of Rolling Stones tours as a sideman and emerged from a similar London milieu, it’s no surprise that the onetime Small Face/Face known as “Mac” could channel the band so well. What is so surprising is how few others have managed to do so. From his first solo album in Bonus points for Bobby Keys on saxophone.
